Schoolboy Chao, runs away from the world of junk food and decayed teeth for a new, healthier life. But those villains won’t give up without a fight.

Triplex Adventures is a musical showcase being brought to the Fringe for one performance only by primary school children from Beijing. It follows the adventures of a spoiled 10-year-old boy who realises that he must resist “sweet” temptations and battle for something better with the help of his friends: vegetables, water, sporty shoes, and alarm clock.

Triplex Adventures is exciting musical fun for children and families – partly performed in English and with English subtitles for the songs.

It brings together three different stories Change MyselfAdventure in Street Teeth and a youth version of Hakuna Matata.

Change Myselfwon the gold medal at Beijing 2018 Art Festival was the first musical showcase performed entirely by elementary children since the festival began in 1971. The show is presented by the Blue Bird Youth Musical Company, which was one of China’s first musical companies for elementary children.

Jianxin Wang, Director of the Triplex Adventures, said: “This is a fun story about Chao’s big adventure with a message about healthy living at its heart. None of the children have ever been to Scotland before – so this is an adventure for them too, and they are very much looking forward to being part of the biggest arts festival in the world.”

The company’s mission is to stage stories close to children’s daily life and speak in their language. Shining eyes and smiling faces are always our best rewards. Competing in district and city art festivals for 6 years, Blue Bird Youth Musical Company has earned its reputation by collecting gold and silver awards in all participation. In May the musical showcase was invited to perform at the China Art Festival representing the city of Beijing.
