Applications are being invited from artists and makers to take part in Perthshire Open Studios (POS) 2020.

The organisers say it’s important to sign up early as a maximum of 140 studios are able to take part.

This year’s event will take place across beautiful Perthshire and Kinross-shire between 5-13 September and is expected to attract visitors from all across the region and far beyond.

There will also be a showcase exhibition at the Bield, Blackruthen, which will include a number of artists in residence, plus a display of work at Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

Glenys Andrews, POS President, said: “Perthshire Open Studios is going from strength to strength.

“Last year the 140 studios taking part, and the 200 artists and makers showing their work, attracted around 15,500 visitors.

“They come from all over Scotland and beyond to see a wonderful range of paintings, jewellery, photography, ceramics and much more, in a huge variety of locations and to explore one of the loveliest parts of Scotland.

“And the event is now so popular with artists that we really would advise people to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

The 2019 visitor survey showed high levels of satisfaction among visitors – and nearly two thirds had enjoyed a previous POS so much that they had decided to come again.

Registration for POS 2020 is now open and closes on 19 April.
